Sometimes I think that if I didn’t have a DVR, I would never get anything done. I used to sit down in front of the TV to eat dinner, and stagger away five hours later, having gotten sucked into a marathon of one reality TV show or another. Okay, I have to admit that still happens from time to time, but it’s nice to know that now I can finish up that marathon of America’s Next Top Model or Wife Swap tomorrow, instead. Plus I can create my own marathons by having it record all of the episodes of No Reservations (I love Anthony Bourdain!) that are on for the week, and settle in to watch them all at once when I get a day off. What’s the point of having satellite tv through www.directstartv.comif you miss all the good stuff because you are at work? I always make sure that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are ready and waiting on the DVR to welcome me home at night with the Daily Show and Colbert Report. And if I fall asleep in the middle of the show, I can always rewind and try again later!
